"I come from a family that has been involved in public service in Green for generations. I want to prioritize fiscal responsibility and make our residents the focus of our city government. We need to ensure that Green continues to be a desired, livable city for all who choose to call it home."

 MY PRIORITIES

SAFETY

As mayor, the safety of Green residents will remain my top concern. I am appreciative of the policing services provided to our city by the Summit County Sheriff’s Office and I am committed to maintaining a strong working relationship with them. While on council, I led the effort to restrict pipeline settlement funds to be reserved for safety purposes. A fire station is essential for the southwest corner of Green. I am committed to prioritizing this need, and making the necessary adjustments to both the operating and the capital budget so the city can afford this important project.

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

I will ensure Green makes sound, sustainable fiscal decisions that will meet our current needs and position our city to be competitive today without jeopardizing our long-term fiscal health.  We will approach decisions with the same “wants” versus “needs” analyses we apply in our personal and business budgets.  We will perform more due diligence on projects before we commit to them. Projects improving safety and those which benefit the community as a whole will receive priority. Personal interest, legacy and outside concerns will not dictate spending in the City of Green.

BUSINESS COMPATIBILITY

I am committed to helping Green flourish in the post pandemic business landscape. We must accommodate and attract strong businesses in order to maintain our tax base. These entities are crucial to maintaining the infrastructure, services and amenities we have come to expect and rely on.

TRANSPARENCY

Involving Green citizens in the decision-making processes must be standard operating procedure. I will strive to rebuild trust between our residents and our government leaders, and I will work to incorporate different perspectives into decision-making. Rubber stamped, pre-determined results cost our government legitimacy and true connection with the needs of our residents. We owe our residents a government where individual input is welcomed and honesty can be counted on.

COMMUNITY DRIVEN

Green government must work for everyone — from “lifers” who lived our rural heritage to brand new residents and everyone in between. Our hard-working citizens do not require leaders who instruct them how to live their lives, but instead those who will establish reasonable community standards and ensure respectful enforcement thereof.  I understand these boundaries and I will not put forth legislation that infringes upon them.

I am very proud of the community-focused, yet independent spirit that has always characterized the people of Green. As mayor, I hope to foster that spirit through event planning and partnering with local groups that serve demographics across our community to bring residents together for celebrations of culture, history, arts, athletics, and fellowship in general. I hope you will join me in promoting and celebrating healthy community pride in Green.
